Park whereever you can (the parks fill up by 9), meet in the stream "lagoon" next to the ocean, just mauka of the sandbar, at 9:00 AM.

E-Z Glider to the Mokes & Super Bowl Sunday Surfing Clinic - Meet at the Kailua Beach Boat Ramp for an 8:00 AM launch and head out to the Mokulua Islands. Surfing not required, but those so inclined will get basic surf instruction and then practice with other experienced kayak surfers. If you are more adventurous, join Rusty on a paddle (weather permitting) out to the NOAA wave buoy (another 2 miles off-shore).  Everyone meets back on the Mokes for lunch.  If you don't have a good surf boat, contact the leaders in advance about borrowing one. Bring picnic snacks for lunch on the sand beach. No TVs or radios allowed! You can leave at noon-ish if ya just gotta get back for the 1:15 kickoff.

Fri 22 Full Moon & Fireworks - Meet at “Hilton Heliport” at 5:30 for 6:30pm launch from Duke Kahanamoku Beach.  (Kulu moonrise at 7:30pm.).  Arrive early, parking can be difficult! Bring snacks and drinks and some way to illuminate your boat for the paddle back.  White is a good color, or light blue cayalume sticks.  Please, no red or green lights: they confuse other boaters. - 2 Mi. Sun 24 Ke'ehi Lagoon to Ewa Beach- along the Reef Runway and across Pearl Harbor Channel. Long carpool for this one, be ready to leave "Alan's Ramp" (see map Map) at 8:00 AM,  Be at Ewa Beach no later than 8:30 a.m. for the return shuttle.  Launch at 9:00 a.m.  - 8 Mi.

Because Kona winds may incline us to run this paddle in the opposite direction (starting at Ewa Beach instead), check with the paddle leader the night before.

Fourth of July - Meet 6:00 PM at Ala Wai Community Park Clubhouse (corner of Kapiolani Blvd & McCully St) - Launch at 6:30. (Show starts at 8:30, but ocean access may be blocked after about 7:30) It is not recommended to go beyond the main breakwater, there is an easy place to land on the inside, and there may be room to sit on top of the wall. Bring snacks and drinks, and some way to illuminate your boat for the paddle back. (White is a good color for this, or light blue Cayalume lightsticks. No fishing in Waimea Bay.
Directions: if you’re coming from the Hale’iwa direction, go past Sunset Beach. You’ll see the UH Ag Station makai, and Crawford’s Home on the mauka side, and then the next time you see the ocean you are there. Similarly, if you’re coming past Turtle Bay Resort and you see Crawford’s on your left, turn around and go back until you see the ocean again. Here is a link to Google Maps (They call the Launch Point "Kawela Beach", which is the wrong name, but it's the right beach) - 10.5 mi. -

Bobbi & Norm in the very first RegattaWindbag Regatta - Maunalua Bay Boat ramp (Hawaii Kai) to Wai'alae Beach Park in Kāhala by any wind-driven means - sails, kites, umbrellas, bedsheets on sticks, old raincoats, whatever. Carpool leaves Maunalua Bay Beach Park at 8:30 AM. Race will begin at 11:00, or when the Race Director determines there is enough wind. Regular paddlers are welcome but a WMD (wind management device) is required for the competition. Club Members: $10 early entry fee, $20 on the day of the race. EZ Glider: Kaiaka Bay and Adjacent Streams - (Paukauila and Ki`iki`i Streams -  Meet at "Mushroom Rock" in Kaiaka State Park (in Waialua) at 9:30 for a 10:00 am launch.  Kayakers can paddle lazily on calm water in a historic agricultural district.  The more adventurous can push upstream through grass overgrowth to seldom-visited stretches replete with sugar-plantation ruins and relics. - 4 mi.
