Presentation: “Stop the Bleed. Save a Life! ” by Christina “TJ” Donayri, RN
Christina is the Clinical Coordinator, Injury Prevention and Outreach, in the Trauma Services Department at the Queen’s Medical Center. The “Stop the Bleed. Save a Life!” campaign’s purpose is to better prepare persons to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding whether from a shark attack, bullet wound, or other emergencies. The training is intending to teach techniques to help save a life before someone bleeds out. This includes (1) How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound; (2) How to pack a wound to control bleeding, and (3) How to correctly apply a tourniquet. Receive comprehensive bleeding control education targeted for civilians that will inform and empower you.
