SUMMARY:Magic Island Meet & Greet
DESCRIPTION:At our first Meet & Greet event of the year we welcome prospective members to join us on an EZ Glider paddle followed by a potluck picnic where you can talk to our members and learn about the club and our activities. \n\n\n\nOn this paddle you can experience Waikiki like a tourist as we go from Magic Island to Waikiki and back. We’ll launch from the Magic Island canoe ramp\, go out the channel and then paddle inside the reef to get an up close look at hotels and sun worshipers. If you know how to re-enter your kayak in the water you can try surfing a small wave or take a quick snorkel at one of the reefs. We’ll turnaround near Kuhio Beach and head back to Magic Island. \n\n\n\nAfter the paddle stay for a potluck lunch. Non-paddling family and friends are welcome to join us at the potluck. Lunch will be between Picnic Sites #6 and #7 just Ewa of the canoe hale. Look for the club banner. Bring a potluck dish to share\, your drinks and camp chairs. Dogs are prohibited at the park so please do not bring your dog to the picnic (trained service dogs excepted). \n\n\n\nA limited number of loaner kayaks are available for this event. Please read our loaner kayak etiquette before requesting a loaner. Contact the paddle leader by Friday\, 1/30\, to request a loaner. \n\n\n\nPaddlers should meet at the ramp in front of the canoe hale at 8:30 for a 9:00 launch. – 3 to 4 mi. \n\n\n\nPaddle Leader:\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch Location:\n\n\n\nPark in the Magic Island parking lot or along Ala Moana Park Dr. Launch from the ramp across the road from the canoe hale. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n	Look Who's Coming!William MurphyRoya JueTerry ShimabukuroBeth Cheng-LeeverAmy FujimotoHilary EllisSandy JohnsonNadine Owenstan dalbeckelvin tom\n	Attendance: 10 / 20\n	\n \n\n \n \n Registrations are closed for this event

SUMMARY:Weed Out the Wimps
DESCRIPTION:One of the most challenging paddles on O‘ahu from the Makai Research Pier to Maunalua Bay. You’ll pass many scenic spots: the Makapu‘u Lighthouse\, the rugged Kaiwi Coast\, Sandy Beach\, Koko Crater\, the Halona Blowhole\, Hanauma Bay and China Walls\, but you may be too busy watching for big trade swells to appreciate the scenery. This is a LONG paddle and the only emergency bail-out is at Kapaliokamoa (Two Beer Beach) or maybe Koloko Cove. Not for the timid\, but there might be whales! Meet at the left of the pier at 8:00 with a carpool at 8:30. – 9.5 mi. \n\n\n\nPaddle Leader:\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch Location:\n\n\n\nPark in the dirt lot to the left of the pier. You will have to carry your kayak down a short slope to the beach. \n\n\n\n\n\nLanding Location:\n\n\n\nMaunalua Bay Beach Park. Park on the Keahole St. end of the park not near the boat ramp. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n	Look Who's Coming!William MurphyRoya JueTerry ShimabukuroBeth Cheng-LeeverAmy FujimotoHilary EllisSandy JohnsonNadine Owenstan dalbeckelvin tom\n	Attendance: 10 / 20\n	\n \n\n \n \n Registrations are closed for this event
