SUMMARY:Pōkaʻī Bay to Mākua
DESCRIPTION:This is a mellow paddle on the calm\, leeward coast. Going by World Famous Makaha surfing beach where there is also a turtle feeding station if anybody would like to take a dip and check out some honu. The mountains and valleys along here are gorgeous too. Hopefully it will be a light wind day on this shore which is usually sheltered from the wind. Nevertheless\, the wind can pick up along here so be mentally prepared to deal with that possibility. It’ll be a good one!  \n\n\n\nMeet at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am carpool. SUMMARY:Waialeʻe to Haleʻiwa
DESCRIPTION:A scenic paddle going past all the famous North Shore surf breaks. The first couple miles are the most challenging depending on the swell. We may have to go a distance offshore to pass Sunset Point and avoid breaking waves. After Sunset Beach the hazards are minimal. A little over half way we stop at Waimea Bay. Land just South of the Jumping Rock for a lunch break (pack your lunch in a dry bag). We have encountered spinner dolphin pods many times in the past. Meet at Waiale‘e Beach Park at 8:30 am for a long carpool at 9:00 am. – 9.75 mi. \n\n\n\nPaddle Leader:\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch Location:\n\n\n\nAn undeveloped beach park that’s easy to miss with a dirt parking lot. SUMMARY:Mālaekahana to Waialeʻe
DESCRIPTION:A challenging paddle around the northern tip of O‘ahu. Can be windy and rough with open ocean swells. Cruise past the James Campbell Wildlife Refuge\, Turtle Bay and Kawela Bay. Meet at the small beach park just south of the private Mālaekahana Beach Campground (look for telephone pole #34 on the makai side of the highway) at 8:00 am for a 8:30 am carpool. SUMMARY:Summer Solstice Celebration Meet & Greet
DESCRIPTION:We’ll celebrate the summer solstice with a roundtrip EZ Glider paddle from Haleʻiwa Beach Park. Our route will be determined by the conditions that day. After the paddle we’ll enjoy a potluck BBQ picnic dinner as we await an awesome sunset to end the longest day of the year. \n\n\n\nBring a dish to share\, your own beverages and a beach chair for the potluck dinner. We’ll have a grill going if you’d like to cook something on the barbie. Musicians are welcome to bring their instrument of choice for an impromptu sunset kanikapila. \n\n\n\nAt this third Meet & Greet of the year we encourage all members to come out whether you want to paddle or just enjoy the potluck and incredible sunset. Members should invite guests that might have an interest in joining our club. \n\n\n\nA limited number of loaner kayaks are available for this event. SUMMARY:Haleʻiwa to Runway Beach
DESCRIPTION:This fun paddle takes you past Haleʻiwa\, Waialua and Mokuleia normally with a good tailwind to push you down the coast. This is a good run for sailing or kite flying. Surfers can zig-zag their way through the breakers along the way. If we’re lucky we’ll see the spinner dolphin pod that frequents Haleʻiwa. Meet by the Haleʻiwa war memorial at 8:30 AM. DESCRIPTION:We play tourist today with a fun cruise across world famous Waikiki Beach. Kayak surfers can drop in on the surf breaks along the way. On our return leg\, we’ll pull up on the beach in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and have lunch at the beachfront Mai Tai Bar. Bring your camp chair if you want to sit comfortably for the lecture portion of the clinic. \n\n\n\nAt 11:30 we’ll have our traditional kayak Easter egg hunt on the bay. Bring your kids (or borrow some) and create a memory they’ll never forget! If you bring kids make sure that each one has a properly sized PFD. (Walmart carries affordable children’s PFDs.)  \n\n\n\nAfter the eggs are gathered we’ll enjoy a sumptuous potluck lunch. Bring a dish to share and your camp chair. The club is providing a sheet cake for the potluck so we don’t need many other desserts. We’ll have a jug of ice water\, but if you want anything else to drink bring it yourself. DESCRIPTION:One of the most challenging paddles on O‘ahu from the Makai Research Pier to Maunalua Bay. You’ll pass many scenic spots: the Makapu‘u Lighthouse\, the rugged Kaiwi Coast\, Sandy Beach\, Koko Crater\, the Halona Blowhole\, Hanauma Bay and China Walls\, but you may be too busy watching for big trade swells to appreciate the scenery. This is a LONG paddle and the only emergency bail-out is at Kapaliokamoa (Two Beer Beach) or maybe Koloko Cove. Not for the timid\, but there might be whales! DESCRIPTION:Surfers meet at the Kailua Boat Ramp for an 8:30 AM surf clinic. Surfing not required\, but those so inclined will get basic surf instruction and then practice with other experienced kayak surfers. Everyone meets back on the Mokes for lunch. If you don’t have a good surf boat\, contact the leader in advance about borrowing one.
