SUMMARY:Mokuleʻia to Kaʻena and Back
DESCRIPTION:Vice-President Stan Dalbec has long envisioned completing a round trip paddle from Mokulēʻia to Kaʻena Point. We did it in 2025\, but itʻs rare for the wind and surf conditions to line up to make this feasible. Join us on this paddle to Ka’ena Point without the arduous carpool. This round trip cruise takes you along the northwest coast of Oʻahu as Laysan albatross glide overhead. We will come up with an alternate paddle if the conditions don’t cooperate. Meet at Runway Beach at 8:30 AM. No carpool. – 9 mi. \n\n\n\nPaddle Leader:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch Location:\n\n\n\nJust past the Dillingham Airfield\, before Camp Erdman. SUMMARY:Makai Range Pier to Kailua Boat Ramp
DESCRIPTION:A nice cruise across Waimanalo Bay and Lanikai Beach with a stop at Moku Nui. This is a great paddle for beginners to stretch out your paddling distance as it’s all inside the reef and you can stay comfortably close to shore the whole way. No surf launching and landing too. Bring a lunch or snack to enjoy on Moku Nui (the larger of the Mokulua islets). We’ll take a break there to explore the islet or just rest on the beach. Meet at the Makai Range Pier at 8:30 AM. Carpool at 9:00 AM. – 7 mi. \n\n\n\nPaddle Leader:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch Location:\n\n\n\nPark in the dirt lot to the left of the pier. You will have to carry your kayak down a short slope to the beach. \n\n\n\n\n\nLanding Location:\n\n\n\nKailua Boat Ramp. Launch or land on the Lanikai side of the boat ramp. If there’s no parking on the beach side look for parking on the mauka side of Mokulua Dr. or along Kaneapu Pl. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n	Look Who's Coming!William MurphyRandy KennedySandy JohnsonJoe HuSteve HarrisTerry ShimabukuroKatrena KennedyTim SawyerDorothy Hu\n	Attendance: 9 / 20\n	\n \n\n \n \n Registrations are closed for this event

SUMMARY:Surf Crash & Burn Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Launching and returning a kayak through surf is one of the most intimidating parts of coastal paddling. Waves\, timing\, and shallow water can quickly turn a routine paddle into a “Crash & Burn” capsize if approached incorrectly. With the right preparation and technique\, however\, surf zones can be managed safely and confidently. \n\n\n\nThe surf zone is where most kayaking “Crash & Burn” mishaps occur – not because paddlers lack strength\, but because they lack timing and technique. Learning how to launch and return a kayak through waves is essential for anyone paddling coastal waters. This clinic breaks down the process into simple\, practical steps to help you approach surf with confidence and control. \n\n\n\nLaunching and returning through surf is a skill that improves with practice\, patience\, and respect for the ocean. Start small\, focus on timing and control\, and gradually build experience in stronger conditions. \n\n\n\nMeet at Hūnānaniho Beach Park (Sherwood Forest\, across from the polo field) at 9:00 am. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPaddle Leaders:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch Location:\n\n\n\nAlso known as Sherwood Forest. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n	Look Who's Coming!William MurphyRandy KennedySandy JohnsonJoe HuSteve HarrisTerry ShimabukuroKatrena KennedyTim SawyerDorothy Hu\n	Attendance: 9 / 20\n	\n \n\n \n \n Registrations are closed for this event

Land just South of the Jumping Rock for a lunch break (pack your lunch in a dry bag). We have encountered spinner dolphin pods many times in the past.
