DESCRIPTION:ACA-certified instruction of basic ocean kayaking skills. This clinic is highly recommended for all new and prospective members. Free for all club members\, $10 donation for non-members. Membership registration will be accepted for the clinic. Join online or download our club application and bring the completed form and dues to the clinic. \n\n\n\nPre-registration required. RSVP by noon Saturday\, 8/29\, to register. Leader reserves the right to cancel the class if insufficient registration. Meet at 8:00 AM at Duke Kahanamoku Beach. Parking is usually tight so come early so you can hunt for a spot. SUMMARY:Makapuʻu around Mānana (Rabbit) Island
DESCRIPTION:An EZ Glider round-trip paddle from the Makai Range Pier to Makapu‘u going around Mānana (Rabbit) Island if conditions allow. This is an EZ Glider based on the distance\, but it can can be windy and choppy so check the forecasts to see if it matches your comfort level before coming out. The actual course will be set at the time of launch. Snorkeling may be possible. Probably too early for whale watching\, but maybe we’ll see an early bird. Meet at the Makai Range Pier at 9:00 AM. Launch around 9:30. No carpool. – 3 to 4 mi. \n\n\n\nPaddle Leader:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch Location:\n\n\n\nPark in the dirt lot to the left of the pier. SUMMARY:Papio Kayak Fishing Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The HWK Papio Fishing Tournament returns where the goal is to catch a big\, but not too big fish. We reserved the small group campsite at Kualoa Regional Park for two days of kayak fishing. Don’t want to fish? That’s OK\, club members are welcome to pitch their tents next to the fishermen for the weekend. The club will have a separate Turtletown paddle on Sunday. You can camp Friday and Saturday nights. Fishing starts on Saturday morning\, continues on Sunday\, with awards on Sunday afternoon. \n\n\n\nDownload the entry form and rules.  \n\n\n\nCamping is for registered fishermen and club members only. SUMMARY:Turtletown Tour
DESCRIPTION:While the fishermen try to reel in a big papio\, non-fishing club members can take an EZ Glider roundtrip cruise to visit Turtletown in the patch reefs of Kaneohe Bay. A high concentration of honu inhabit these reefs and we hope to snorkel respectfully with them. There should be great photo/video opportunities so bring your underwater cameras. Eileen hints that there may be a couple of fun honu-themed contests for this paddle. – 4 mi. RT \n\n\n\nWe start and end this adventure from Kualoa Campsite A where club members are welcome to camp on Friday and Saturday. If you’re not camping bring a lunch and chair for a post-paddle meal. Spend the afternoon at the campsite and watch the Papio Tournament weigh-in.
