Paddle Leader Eileen Helmstetter

While the fishermen try to reel in a big papio, non-fishing club members can take an EZ Glider round trip cruise to visit Turtletown in the patch reefs of Kaneohe Bay. A high concentration of honu inhabit these reefs and we hope to snorkel respectfully with them. There should be great photo/video opportunities so bring your underwater cameras. Eileen hints that there may be a couple of fun honu-themed contests for this paddle. We start and end this adventure from Kualoa Campsite A where club members are welcome to camp on Friday and Saturday. If you’re not camping bring a lunch and chair for a post-paddle meal. Spend the afternoon at the campsite and watch the Papio Tournament weigh-in. Meet at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am launch. – 4 mi.
