Fall Camp & Papio Kayak Fishing Contest

September 25 @ 8:00 am September 27 @ 3:00 pm

This weekend was reserved for our annual two-day Papio Kayak Fishing Tournament, but with the decreased interest in fishing within the club we’re changing the event to a weekend camp with the focus on fun and building club fellowship. We’ll still have a less competitive one-day papio fishing contest. We reserved the small group campsite at Kualoa Regional Park for camping on Friday and Saturday nights.

We’re still working out the details, but here’s a draft itinerary for the weekend (subject to change):

Friday

  • Setup camp anytime after 9:00 am
  • Evening full moon paddle around Mokoliʻi

Saturday

Sunday

  • Kayak Safety Practice, 10:00 am – We will practice self-rescue, assisted rescue and towing in the protected water just offshore from camp. The goal will be for all participants to be confident that they can get back in their kayak after a huli and that they can assist a fellow kayaker if needed.

Camping is only for club members and their guests and registered fishermen.

Club members that want to camp should RSVP below.
