Fall Camp & Papio Kayak Fishing Contest
September 25 @ 8:00 am – September 27 @ 3:00 pm
This weekend was reserved for our annual two-day Papio Kayak Fishing Tournament, but with the decreased interest in fishing within the club we’re changing the event to a weekend camp with the focus on fun and building club fellowship. We’ll still have a less competitive one-day papio fishing contest. We reserved the small group campsite at Kualoa Regional Park for camping on Friday and Saturday nights.
We’re still working out the details, but here’s a draft itinerary for the weekend (subject to change):
Friday
- Setup camp anytime after 9:00 am
- Evening full moon paddle around Mokoliʻi
Saturday
- Papio fishing contest
- Papio Contest rules and entry form
- Entries forms and payment are due to Stan McCrea by 9/24
- Afternoon Turtletown Tour Meet & Greet
- Potluck BBQ dinner
- Fellowship campfire (Storytelling, singing and S’mores)
Sunday
- Kayak Safety Clinic, 10:00 am – We will practice self-rescue, assisted rescue and towing in the protected water just offshore from camp.
Camping is only for club members and their guests and registered fishermen.
