One of the most challenging paddles on O‘ahu from the Makai Research Pier to Maunalua Bay. You’ll pass many scenic spots: the Makapu‘u Lighthouse, the rugged Kaiwi Coast, Sandy Beach, Koko Crater, the Halona Blowhole, Hanauma Bay and China Walls, but you may be too busy watching for big trade swells to appreciate the scenery.
Surfers meet at the Kailua Boat Ramp for an 8:30 AM surf clinic. Surfing not required, but those so inclined will get basic surf instruction and then practice with other experienced kayak surfers.
An EZ Glider round trip paddle from the He’eia Kea canoe hale to Ahu o Laka, the sandbar in the middle of Kaneohe Bay. A great beginners paddle!
A south shore cruise along Kaka’ako and Sand Island. Landing at the beach near the Marine Education Training Center in Ke’ehi Lagoon. This is a great paddle for novices to test out paddling on the open ocean.

We’ll celebrate Easter a week early this year with a weekend camp filled with activities. We reserved the small group campsite at Kualoa Regional Park so we’ll have lots of room for club members and their guests to pitch a tent.
Paddle from the Kualoa campground to Kahana Bay. Route may go inside or outside the reef depending on conditions.
We have a full day of kayaking activities for prospective members and their families. The activities begin at 9:00 am with an “Introduction to Kayaking” clinic that will teach paddling strokes, proper PFD fitting, basic safety and on-the-water capsize recovery. At 11:30 we’ll have our traditional kayak Easter egg hunt on the bay. Bring your kids (or borrow some) and create a memory they’ll never forget!
This medium length paddle around Le’ahi (Diamond Head) is a good one for novices looking to improve their open ocean skills. We’ll take a break about halfway at Shangri-La.
Our club meetings will now be quarterly on the second Wednesday every third month.
This round trip EZ Glider paddle is great for beginners to improve their skills in water exposed to small swells. You may also have to dodge wind surfers! Weʻll paddle across Kailua Bay and may stop at Popoiʻa (Flat) Island, a seabird sanctuary, before heading back to Kaimalino.
A medium length cruise past the Ewa plain. Small shore breaks at launch and landing are possible so you need to be comfortable going through the surf.
